11-B Travel No-Hitter July 25, 2011 (vs. Hull)

A note from Coach Mark Kelly:

 On 7-25-11, Andrew Standley and Jonathan Moses of Braintree National 11B Blue All-Stars combined to pitch a no-hitter defeating Hull by a score of 5-0 at Mitchell Field in Hull.  Ryan Mangan caught the entire game for Braintree National.  Andrew kept the Hull batters guessing and off balance all night with a variety of off-speed pitches to set up his fastball.

   Andrew reached the maximum pitch count of 85 pitches after 5 & 1/3 innings of no-hit ball. Andrew handed the game over to Jonathan Moses, who struck out the only two batters he faced, to complete the combined no-hitter.  The no-hitter was also preserved by some excellent defense late in the game, including a highlight reel shoestring, sno-cone, catch in center field by Ben Sears and a running catch in right field by Owen Donovan.  The team has a league record of 6 wins and 2 losses.
