Braintree National Fall Baseball’s 5th Season begins September 11th at 5:00 PM at Watson Park. Please e-mail Mark Kelly, Fall Baseball Coordinator, at emkelly@beld.net if you wish to play.
Fall Baseball is a development program for Braintree National 9, 10, 11, and 12 year old players who played in AA, AAA, or Majors during the spring season of 2010 and will be playing either in AAA or Majors during the spring of 2011. A player need not have played summer travel to play fall baseball, but all travel players are encouraged to play.
Fall Baseball’s format consists of pick-up baseball games in a relaxed atmosphere. Teams are made up every week prior to the games. The coaches will be stressing fundamentals and proper mechanics of hitting, catching, throwing, cutoffs, and pitching while the kids have fun playing baseball. Batting cages may be open during games for those who want to practice hitting between at bats. The program is ideal for kids who want to play a few more games during September and October before the approaching winter months. The rules are designed so that all players will have an opportunity to pitch, catch, play infield, and outfield. All players will play at least two innings at an infield position every game and every player will play the outfield. We play once a week on Saturdays at 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Delory and DeRosa (weather permitting) from Sept 11th to Oct 23rd. Cost is approximately $20.00 and includes a Braintree National Fall Baseball Shirt. Costs are to cover cost of shirts, baseballs, and umpires. No practices will occur, so your player’s commitment is only one Saturday night a week.
Hope to see a large turnout this September 11th.
Mark Kelly, Fall Baseball Coordinator
